Today, the lovely New Zealander, Maia Dylan joins me.
ROWENA’S TRIPLE THREAT – GREY RIVER 4
Rowena's Triple Threat
Rowena Whitley had already survived her father’s betrayal and being held hostage by a killer. Could she face death a third time and survive again?
When she suspected that her own personal nightmare was coming for her, Rowena left Dallas and headed to Grey River looking to start over. She counted on the fact that there would be no threat to her there, and she would have the opportunity to bring her dreams to life.
What she hadn’t counted on was Wyatt, Luke, and Chase Greyson recognizing her as their fated mate the day she arrived. They were willing to take things slow until they found out she was in danger. Now they were determined to convince Rowena that they were her triple threat protectors, and to trust them to shield her from danger and to let them cherish her forever. All the while a maniac from her past is bearing down on them.
“Look, boys,” Wyatt’s eyes narrowed at her. Someone did not like being called a boy, huh? Too damn bad! “I think we need to settle a couple of things here. First, unless I missed the moments we have spent together getting to know each other and forming a relationship where endearments hold meaning Chase, then I am not your, baby.” Chase had the audacity to grin wider and wink at her. The little shit.
“Secondly, getting to know me better as a friend and neighbor is absolutely something we can do, but if you and your brother’s are thinking of something a little more, shall we say, intimate? Then I’m sorry but that is just not going to happen. And thirdly, I can look at my own damn property and determine if its okay and what might need to be done to it. Are we clear?”
“Crystal,” Luke growled from beside her. “But there are a couple of things you should know as well. Firstly, Chase is a born flirt, he usually addresses every woman he meets with an endearment of sorts, but I have never heard him call any one, baby. So I think he was saving that one for you, so you’d probably be best to get used to it. He is one stubborn son of a bitch.” When he smiled at her, she spotted a dimple on his right cheek. Well, shit. She had always been a sucker for dimples. Not wanting him to know she was affected, she narrowed her eyes at him. When she went to speak, Chase cut her off.
“Secondly, we are qualified builders and know what we’re doing, I was simply offering our assistance to look over the property before you invested in it, that’s all, ba-..” damn he had that dimple too. “Rowena.” When had her name ever sounded so sexy? It hadn’t been that long ago, when the hell was that?
“And Rowena,” oh yeah, that’s right. It had been whenever Wyatt or Luke had said her name. The way their tone dropped and the timbre became almost a caress across her skin. Rowena felt her heart beat speed up and her breathing elevate as she fell into Wyatt’s eyes. “We look forward to getting to know you. And when I say get to know you, we plan to get to know every damn thing about you. Because you are right about one thing, we do have a more, shall we say, intimate relationship in mind with you.”
Oh, Jesus it had been too long since she had been with a man and her sex drive chose that moment to come roaring in with a “Sorry I’m late! Traffics a bitch!” settle into her pussy and make her ache. She felt hot liquid drench her panties and knew she was in trouble. She had never had such a strong reaction to a man before, and to experience something so strong and so damn intoxicating as what her body was telling her she was feeling for these three men was frightening.
Ever since Martin Baxter had turned her life upside down she had always been thinking two steps ahead. She was a planner and an organiser of gigantic proportions. She never went into relationships without knowing exactly what she wanted out of it and what she was prepared to give. Here she felt completely out of her depth and she wasn’t entirely sure what to make of that. So, in true Rowena fashion, when she felt a little out of her depth she iced over. She drew her readily available custom made ice cold shield of indifference around her and took a quick breath to calm herself.
“Thank you Wyatt, for someone of my age to find that three young men,” Rowena stressed the word young on purpose, and was pleased to hear she had her doctor voice on, quiet, calm and completely devoid of emotion. “Find her attractive is quite flattering. However, it has been my experience that younger men simply see older women as a challenge. I can assure you that there is no challenge here you can win, just a very difficult road to travel.”
Wyatt held her gaze as he continued to stare into her eyes. “The funny thing about difficult roads is that they usually lead to beautiful destinations, and Rowena, I think with you even the damn road would make for an interesting trip.”

Q: What is it that you most love about writing?
A: There are limitations in most everything you do in life. Pesky things like the laws of physics tend to make some things impossible. What I love most about writing is that the only thing that you are truly limited by is your own imagination. The world’s I create are like the description my three year old daughter gives of her paintings when I ask why the sky is always purple. “Because I like purple, mummy, and in my painting it can be what I like.” So my worlds are filled with what I like - mystery, magic and the impossible.
Q: Where do you do most of your writing?
A: The true answer to that is wherever I can! I write a lot on planes as my day job – boo – means that I fly a lot and stay in hotels. I have also been known to write when I should be working because I am at a part in the book where I just need to see what happens!
Q. Where do you find inspiration for your characters?
A. Everywhere and in every one I meet. I have a friend who is a lawyer, and every now and then she will slip into lawyer speak where I will require a legal definitions book to translate what she has just said to me. I based some of Rowena’s character on her.
Q. What are you working on at the moment?
A. In this book, Rowena introduces us to Angel, and it is her, Chris and Noah’s story that I have just completed, and a new character appeared late in the book. She is pressing for her story to be told so I am thinking of starting that one soon. I am also working on book three of The Shifters of Freedom Springs.
Q. Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?
A. If you have read any of my books, thank you so very much! It blows my mind that someone has actually read something that I wrote, but gosh I hope you enjoyed it! Did you? Please let me know, I find I suffer from a slight case of needy-nelly with my writing. If you haven’t read my book, but you love erotic romance stories between strong men and an independent woman, where the path to their happily ever after can be a bumpy one, but there is always a happily ever after, and their love and laugher is real on every page, then you’ll find my books right up your alley!
Maia Dylan lives, loves and works in beautiful New Zealand. She married her best friend and they have two adorable, but stubborn children who obviously take after their father.
Maia’s career has featured a lot of travel, and she has filled her time at airports and in the air with books, books and more books. Her love of erotic paranormal romance has seen her amass a huge library. She has been an avid reader and lover of ménage romances since she read her first book in this genre about three years ago.
In January of this year, Maia submitted her first ever manuscript to Siren Publishing. She wasn’t at all confident that it would be accepted and in fact she was expecting a nicely worded email with a resounding no! Much to her surprise less than two weeks later she had an acceptance and a signed contract in hand. Since then she hasn’t looked back and currently has three books in her Grey River series set for publication.
Outside of writing, Maia loves to eat, so she loves to cook! Her herb garden is legendary, but she still has issues getting tomatoes to grow. She’s been a performer for years, and has even sung on international stages, she would love to own a classic Ford Mustang one day and of course have the opportunity to race it on a race track without fear of a speeding ticket.
Although ultimately her dream is to be able to write full time on a sandy beach with a Mai Tai at hand, she is quite happy to fit her writing in when she can. As long as someone reads her books, gets a laugh and maybe come to love her characters and much as she does, then she feels that she is living her dreams no matter what!
